WTUF cohost the first Dominican Film Week in Hong kong and launch philanthropy programme

In order to promote cultural exchanges between China and Dominican Republic, the United World Trade Foundation a UN Consultative NGO established a partnership with the Consulate General of the Dominican Republic in Hong Kong and Macau, will host the first Dominican Film Week in Hong Kong and Independence Day celebrations, and simultaneously launched a charity campaign taking the lead in donating the first batch of musical instruments to the Municipal Academy of Music of Esperanza.

Co-host the first film week to promote cultural exchanges between China and Dominican Republic

Dato’ Sir Prof. Ng and Consul-General Àlvarez together reached an agreement on co-hosting the Dominican Film Week in Hong Kong and Independence Day Celebrations. The sides will work closely to promote cultural and artistic exchanges between China and Multinational, raising public awareness of Latin American films, enhance international influence through public diplomacy, and deepening the advantages of the partnership by sharing resources, exchanging information.

As an annual event for international cultural exchange, the film week will feature films co-produced by Dominica and Latin American countries such as Argentina, Brazil, Puerto Rico, Chile, Colombia, Mexico and Peru.

Building a community with common destiny together with Dominican Republic

Dato’ Sri Prof. NG Tat-yung said that China and the Dominican Republic established diplomatic relations at the ambassadorial level in 2018. The history of establishing diplomatic relations is still shallow, and non-governmental forces can participate more widely and promote comprehensive exchanges between the two countries in economy, trade and culture. As a United Nations consultative organization, the World Trade United Foundation can play an active role here, facilitating the construction of Dominica Republic and promoting the building of a community with a shared future for mankind.

Launch Dominican Charity Series

The Chinese people have always been sympathetic, and philanthropy is an important part of promoting public diplomacy. The Foundation has launched a charitable campaign for Dominica Republic. Knowing that the people of the Dominican Republic love music, the founder of the Foundation, Dato’ Sri Prof. NG Tat-Yung took the lead in donating the first batch of musical instruments to the Municipal Music Academy of Esperanza to support the music training and the development of the performing career of the new generation. Afterwards, the Foundation will further organize charitable resources to donate in different local public utilities.

The Consul General Alvarez expressed his gratitude for the donation, and praised the World Trade Federation’s charitable cause for fully demonstrating the boundless spirit of great love and the courage to stand up for words and actions. He mentioned that public resources such as education, public security and medical care are generally in short supply in the Dominican Republic, and he hoped that local charities will receive wider international attention.

The Consul General of the Dominican Republic in Hong Kong and Macau sent a letter to thank Dato’ Sri Prof. NG Tat-Yung and the World Trade United Foundation for donating musical instruments to a municipal music academy, that has played an important role in cultivating the younger generation’s interest in music training and development onarts performing career.
